although this was great while it worked i expect samsung products to last longer than two years that cost over three hundred dollars. like many others have posted before me, the unit unexpectidly stopped playing audio. i reset the unit, checked the wires, tested the speakers and only the front left speaker will generate feedback noise when testing. when attempting to update my unit it says i am not connected to the internet, but succesful when testing my network connection using the built in network tester. i am concerned, because i have other samsung products like my fridge that was $3,200 as well as an oven and microwave. will those crap out too?

1st this system was sortta disappointing from the start. weak, tinish sounding, no adjustments to see if you are taking the sound from the tv. 2nd the never ending boot cycle started.this can't be fixed? so what was a fairly costly disappointment has turned into a useless piece of trash! should have known better. i also own a samsung smart tv that is the dumbest thing ever. try loading an app that was not part of the thousand useless apps that were bundled with the tv in the first place.

no sound from my tv, after 3 yrs homepage starting looping. menu at tv just appear for 1 sec and then disappear, and message at ht just display loading / no disc, dvd not in use. cannot reset since menu is on a loop, doesn't stay up long enough to do a factory reset (with disc or without, with usb same). unplugged system, pressed reject or stop for couple of secs as a default factory reset, no luck.

at first i was pleased with this and thought we had received a good deal as it was on sale at best buy. we have had this for a little over a year now and of course it breaks bc it only has a year warranty. it was working fine and all of a sudden it just turns on and off over. and over until you unplug it. called customer support just to be told sounds like its time for a new one. im sorry a 300+ dollar syatem should last longer then a year. really disappointed in samsung as i own many other appliances from them. may have to reconsider my future purchases.

Not A Quality Product!!!!

Just over 2 years and the fan is no good so the unit will not stay turned on. I contacted Samsung and was told I had to pay $80 to ship it to them so they could look at it. I would have to pay more money to have them replace the fan, do a hard upgrade and then send it back to me. I was also rudely told I could take the unit somewhere else and get it fixed, then hung up on. I bought a Sony Surround 6 CD Player in 2001 and to this day it works great. I thought I was upgrading to the Samsung Blu-ray 3D Player to have the ability to watch movies on Net Flix. While the sound comes out nicely on the front speakers, after adjusting and adjusting the rear speakers still do not work properly. While Sony is more expensive, their products last so much longer and without issues!!!!!

I purchased this unit and it worked great for the first 7 months. I started having problems with the center speaker and called Samsung technical support. We went though the same steps I tried which was run a speaker test, change speaker wires, which neither worked, I have sent the unit to the service center in New Jersey twice which I have to box the unit and take it to the ups store, also I enclosed a letter stating that there is some kind of short inside the unit, both times it was sent back saying I was doing something wrong with the remote. The unit works great for a day, week or even a month then all of a sudden the center speaker quits working and it may be out for an hour, day or two weeks. All I want is what any other person who buys a new unit, peace of mind, a working system, nothing more-nothing less, that's all, I had a Sony unit that was the same wattage for five years and never had any kind of problem unfortunately I left it when I sold my house. I would think I'm not asking to much to get a refurbished unit or a credit to purchase a system that works properly.

I've had a terrible time connecting to my other Samsung Electronics. Every TV that I Connect it to will not work. I've tried every method. I can get the sound to work via analog wires and digital, but no sound for XBOX or Cox Cable via DVR. It won't connect via Bluetooth. I've since replaced it in my lineup with a Onkyo receiver. Night and day. The Onkyo is a godsend. It works with any device on my LAN. I can control any sound from any room. I've converted everything to Onkyo and just bought separate Blu-ray players. I've tried multiple Samsung sound bars, receivers, Blu-ray players and came to this conclusion. I will use Samsung TVs forever, but I will never purchase any sound/audio products from Samsung ever. They just don't get it. Even on my phone and tablet it's as if they don't even care about the audio. I don't get it. They should team up with an audio manufacturer like Mercedes does. It works very well. I hope they try wake this seriously. I don't write reviews. This is my 3rd review ever (over 40 years). Let's hope that they try harder and focus resources on teaming up with audio manufacturers (Bose, Harmon Kardon, Onkyo, Klipsch, Polk Audio) and take a page from Mercedes. Teamwork works well and creates the best audio experience.

I got this system thinking that i would get a great product, being Samsung and all, well after a month the center speaker (dialog sound) stopped working so i could not hear any dialog...i can see them talk but no sound just background noises. I would reset everything and still no fix...it randomly fixes itself for a week or so then breaks again...if i didn't throw away the box i would have returned this disappointment...

I purchased this unit for my husband for a wedding gift. It has been the worst purchase ever! Just as it nears the 1 yr mark the blueray stopped working, it still plays regular movies but not blueray! So last night we tried watching a show on Hulu and for some reason the screen had blue static or blue static shadow!! Haven't contacted Samsung as I have read all the other reviews and know that it will be a complete waste of time to try and get help resolving or getting it fixed. DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG!

Many Features, but Compromises Are Noticeable

The system packs a lot of features in one package, and the sound quality is surprisingly good for the price. The best feature is the "wireless" rear speakers that must by connected to a powered remote amp that wirelessly picks up the rear signals from the front unit. This arrangement allows more freedom in placing the rear speakers out of sight. At this bargain price, however, the seldom mentioned compromises are noticeable: 1) the DVD/BD player sounds like a coffee grinder when it opens up, closes, and starts the disc rotating: 2) the internal fan cooling the amp is noisy and audible when the amplified sound level is low. One annoyance is that attempting to play a CD or DVD-Audio disc automatically turns the TV monitor on if the two are connected by the HDMI ARC cable. Even trying to get the FM tuner to operate will turn on the TV if the user is not quick enough on the remote. (The instructions on programming the FM tuner are very badly written and out of order. It will take experimentation and patience to get that to work.) All in all, the system is worth the effort because it offers quite good sound for a price around that of a single decent rear speaker from most other companies.

The overall sound quality is good. I would have given the overall rating a five except for the following. I'm not impressed with the sound coming from the (L) and ® surround speakers and the sub-woofer. I know they work because the sound test tells me . I like the features where you can program the various speakers with increased dB's and setting the distance to increase the sound. Although, I'm not sure changing these settings really makes much of a difference in the sound power. For a 1000 watt spec. system, I feel the sound should be more prominent. One thing I have not done and that is to play a DVD at a higher sound setting. It's possible that this system sounds best at a higher sound level. I'm still pleased with the system!

Firmware update 1012.5 disables center spkr & subwoofer

Worked great for about 2 years until a firmware update disabled the center speaker and subwoofer. Since it was more than 1 yr after my purchase, it was not under warranty. I spent an hour with tech support who really do not have any good advice or solutions to fix an issue that was caused by their update from 1011 to 1012.5. All of my speakers worked fine with youtube, dvd, cd, thumbdrive, and phone via bluetooth. I noticed that 5.1 was disabled on Netflix, and tested my sound on all options previously mentioned prior to doing the firmware update via USB since it was not doing via the online option. I had previously updated to the 1011.0 update with no issues. Unless you have purchased extended warranty on this equipment, you will be stuck with low grade stereo sound after the firmware update. If you enjoy taking equipment in for repairs and or wasting time performing useless fixes with tech support, then this is something you might want to purchase. Otherwise, spend your money on another company's product.

All connections are color-coded and pictures are representative of actual setup. Sound is adequate and one should not expect High Fidelity quality surround from a wireless rear speaker system. Good value, considering that the system contains a Blue-Ray DVD player, a Stand-alone Woofer and 5 surround speakers. We have not finished the fine tuning of the setup but instructions are clear and intuitive.

Great sound for a great price. Easy to set-up and compliments my 70" TV with rich 5.1 surround sound. The only con is the rear speakers decibel levels cannot be adjusted to the users taste.

I may be a biased because almost all my products are Samsung, but for good reason (I have 2 19" Samsung monitors I purchased 11 years ago and neither of them have a single dead pixel. I use them daily). I have 3 Samsung TV's, an S8, a Note 3, a Note 4, a 6 Edge, 5 Tab 3's, and the list goes on. This sound system paired with my Samsung 60 inch flat screen and multiple other home entertainment devices is great for my bedroom. It's like having a movie theater in my house. I also love the wireless speakers for the rear. Running long wires is never fun. It's great for my computer, playing videos, video games, watching movies, or whatever else i throw at it. It feels like you are in the environment of whatever it is you turn on. I would highly recommend this system to anyone, and with the price you can't beat it. Samsung always has great products at great prices.

Most default settings were fine, only had to tweek a few personal settings. The hardest part was getting all the bends & kinks out of the speaker wires. Could really tell the difference in sounds and added features were greater than my old set, which was 5 or more years older.

This is a wonderful system fro those whom still like the abeyance of a system with the beauty of the future. The sound is great and its small enough not to over-crowd even the smallest of spaces. A great find and with all the app and 3D capabilities this is a wonderful HT system I highly recommend it!

Great Speaker Test Feature

Set up was fairly easy, though the wires into speakers can be finicky, luckily there is a Speaker Test. After Speaker Test, had to reconnect 2 speakers, but thanks to test, I knew which speakers to go to. Rear Speakers Wireless transmitter is great/ Still a lot to learn about the system, but everything appears to be working as it should.

I was looking to get rid of my Panasonic 5 disk DVD player and upgrade to something more compact. Loved the wireless rear speakers set up which was the main thing I was looking for. All the "smart" features of the Samsung were just a bonus. I figured samsung is huge so leasy try it. Apps lag, only has a mirroring feature which sucks, needs a casting feature, looses connection easily. I feel samsung had a great idea here but the could have done a better job.

We love this home theater system. The only thing that it lacks that would greatly improve it are HDMI input ports; this unit comes with one HDMI output.

The sound system is very good and sound great with a little tweaking. It was an easy task to mount the speakers to the wall but this isn't the most ideal method or placement. It would have been better to be able to get them off the wall a little but the only way to hang them is with a keyhole in the back. I have yet to find a bracket that would let me mount them in a better manner without running screws into the casing. A simple threaded attachment point would fix that entire issue. This unit is not top of the line with all the newest media type decoders but the ones it does have are quite good. It is most reasonable for the price and the location that I was placing it into. Good picture quality from the Blu-ray player with a simple HDMI cable of good quality. The ARC is also a help when paired to the TV with the same format. The sound from anything playing on the TV is routed back to the system which has much better sound than the TV speakers.

It was time to upgrade my surround. My old system had wires going from my receiver to me rear speakers. Was quite an eyesore. The rear speakers aren't quite wireless as they still need wires going from the speakers to a back receiver. But I was able to hide the receiver out of the way so it's not to bad. Sound from Blue Ray is amazing. All channels sound great. The sound from the tv is just ok, you lose some of the surround effects, but it is still worth it. Setup was easy.
