This product is amazing, but has a few flaws

This product is very amazing it has lasted me well for the 1-2 years I have owned it for. The few problems I have found with this is it tends to freeze when finishing up app installation. Another flaw I found is that every now and then the screen will glitch out and give me static so that is another downside. But overall this product is very good for those looking for a good work or school tablet, and it is also fairly inexpensive depending on where you purchase it from, like Barnes & Noble, or AT&T.

Basically the Tablet is ok, however once you fill up memory with programs/ apps. your pretty much done. SD Card will not work with any program/ app that uses internet. You can put songs/ books/ pic on SD Card, but almost NO programs / Apps. Decide Accordingly which way to go on your purchase.

I like the features of this tablet. Not only do I have a Nook, I also have a Kindle app and also a Bible app. I also can personalize my Nook with photos, a weather app and the Google Chrome browser. I have owned the black on for over a year. I enjoy it.

Originally bought this for my wife but I was so impressed with the overall quality and screen resolution that I bought one for myself also! So glad we upgraded the old NOOK book to the Galaxy Tab 4. My wife can literally enjoy hours of reading with her Galaxy Tab 4 that I have a hard time pulling her away. She's even using it for email, Facebook, and the internet. Another nice feature is the fact that we upgraded our memory and are able to download our favorite books to a Micro SD Card.

This product is great for a Yoda that likes to read, play games, take pictures, even check your emails, get on internet, or even watch movies, and play music. This eReader you can do most anything you can do some of the same things you do on your home computer except a lot more. I forgot it also has wi-fi.

My tablet works fine. Sometimes there are things that happen like glitches but overall a pretty good product. I would recommend this product to someone, definitely. I used to have a nook that had special features but this tablet is a little more advanced. It was definitely worth the money.

I love the tablet. I originally bought it to just be a nook but, quickly discovered it is so much more. It's also very sturdy. My boys use it and it gets dropped and was even thrown in frustration by a 3 year old and the screen didn't crack or break and all is still working great.

This is my 5th Samsung device and 2nd Nook 7.0. I much prefer this over the plain ereader, just because it actually can function as a tablet. At only 10-20 dollars more, this is a great value. I was disappointed that the charging port was not quite as flexible. I found that my grandchild had been charging my previous 7.0 on a non Samsung charger. It charged for a many months, but can no longer hold a charge. However, the price is so economical, that it wasn't expensive to just buy a new device rather than trying to get the first one repaired. I'm very happy with this device and have purchased one for 2 two family members. Bravo, Samsung!

I have been using the Galaxy Tab4 Nook for some time now, and It has some of the best features that I have found do date. The black on white page for reading is easy on the eyes, plus if you are reading difficult material, (such as a text book) and you don't know a word, you can easily mark it and look it up. I found this especially useful when I was researching material for my thesis on Henry the VIII. I needed to look up some of the old English words, and the tablet came through every time. I recommend it to anyone who wants to carry around lots of books without the weight of all that paper.

As a Nook Reader this tablet is great. You can delete books from your account without going through a computer and the color screen is a welcome feature, especially for reading magazines. It is too slow to be an efficient web surfer, however, and not really useful for much more than checking e-mail. Adding apps is problematic. When I try, I get an error message that says I don't have enough memory available. I added a mini-SD card, and the tablet recognizes it, but I can't find a way to save stuff onto the card. The manual is no help in this regard.

While, it is working fine for me, it is nearly full with apps, and I don't use that many apps, so I'm guessing someone younger who likes a bunch of games, the larger memory will be helpful. I've found a good number of apps that won't save to the SD card, so they a sitting in the device memory and taking up space. I find the tablet to be pretty well exactly what I need, but again, I'm not a game player, the apps I have have more to do with monitoring my email, and reading books, etc. I recommend this tablet to others of my generation, who need to be introduced to the technology, through a easy to use interface.

When I saw that this product was a Barnes and Noble Nook, I though that it would run a limited operating system that does basically nothing. However, this is not the case. This product is just like the real Samsung Galaxy Tablet, except it comes pre-installed with Nook apps! I love that is a real Android tablet! It does everything that I'd want it to do! The only thing that I have to complain about is that the battery doesn't seem to last that long... It barely lasts long enough to read a book. Also, there is not much internal storage available, so you can't really download that much (unless you have a microSD that you want to hook up). However, I believe that the device is perfectly sized, a perfect mix of a decent screen size and a portable design. Overall, I think that the device is definately worth buying if you are looking for a cheap Android tablet - as long as you have an available microSD and charger port nearby.

I lost functionality when I switched to the Samsung from my Nook HD; I lost the ability to highlight a word and search a dictionary OR the Internet for a definition via the pop-up. The Samsung has the Merriam-Webster dictionary, but when reading Russian and French translated authors, the definition are never available in this embedded dictionary. I do not have a need to highlighting text with three different color since my reading is primary for pleasure, I really do miss this Internet search functionality and would not have "traded-up" had I known I would lose this powerful function.

Only 2 issues I have had with this device in almost a year of use are. 1.) You can not change the screen brightness in Amazon kindle app 2.) Can not use Swype function to type. Other than these I have no complaints and use it daily.

I've owned several tablets, note books, smart phones and MacBooks, and this Samsung Galaxy Tab4 Nook 7" display is by far the best I've owned. You can't beat the price for the high quality display and speed of this tablet. I purchased it to ready my online magazine subscriptions and ended up using it for much, much more. I skype with my wife and family with it, play games, watch YouTube videos, submit my weekly college assignments/blogs, research my next fishing locations (weather, tide charts, depth, etc.) and the list goes on. It has a very high quality camera that I do not use but my daughters really enjoy taking pictures and easily uploading them to secure storage provided by Samsung. All in all, outstanding product. Not too big or too small. Just right.

The Tab 4 works exactly as advertised. It can last for days when you tap the side key to put it to sleep, using ~2% of charge a day. Using the supplied charger it takes several hours to charge, maybe 6, but not overnight. A standard USB charger takes more like 12hrs. The screen is bright with deep colors and very good detail. I can unpinch to enlarge a photo to at least double size without starting to see fuzz. Have to enlarge at least three times to start seeing pixels. It is a little slow using Epub, which I use for books, when changing to another book or looking at the directories. The only piddling complaint I have is that I find the control keys around the edges are in the wrong place for reading. I lock the screen in reverse portrait(upside down) when reading to keep from accidentally pressing them. The ability to add a mini SDHC card is great for storage. I've already dropped it at least once with no damage. The high strength glass screen is a real plus.
