just received the tab a 8.0 back from a warranty check as it had stopped working. photos showed internal water damage. considering the device was either mounted to the windscreen (internal) of my car, in the glovebox of the car or on a high shelf at home i can only wonder if the product is not sneeze proof.

I've had this tablet since May 2018. It is now running Android 9.0 and UI upgrades that were received via official pushes from Samsung. The battery life, performance, and app compatibility are solid. It's been an excellent travel companion for watching movies, and handling my maps, hotel reservations, email and finance needs when on the road. I prefer the 8.0" tablet size over the 10" because it's just small enough to be able to hold single-handed while typing with the other. Only negative comment I have on the design is that the case is pretty slippery.

In the beginning it was fine but eventually this thing cuts on and off. Ive reset it way too many times but unfortunately it still have the same problem. That part itself overrides everything good about it.

We just received this tab A 8/32 Gig tablet. Took it to my provider to have it put on our plan and what do we find? It won't take a sim card. There is no place to put a SIM card.there is no internal SIM. There is no way except wifi to put it on the internet. Not mobile at all. no where does Samsung mention this in their advertising. I find it intersting that none of the reviews mention this major feature missing. None of the associate at the provider had even heard of a tablet without data. I feel ripped off by Samsung. now I'm on terminal hold trying to return it.

I've been testing different devices in the last 4 to 5 years Apple iPad mini, Amazon fire, Barnes and Noble nook, Now Samsung Galaxy Tab A I also tried Zte Spro and LG products.. Not only is the price reasonable for the technology tablet it keeps getting better. You know those apps you have to download to know what they do and are! They leave files when you do The Galaxy Tab A has System Device maintenance that can find them and remove them. They can take up space but also cause the flow of your device to not go as smoothly as it could. Seriously so far the Galaxy Tab A is the one to choose from start of price to serious quality of features, functions, and options. 5 stars!!!!

I bought this because I was very happy with my last tablet that died (tried getting a new battery and new micro USB plug-in but that didn't work). When I got it I found out that the soft keys ("buttons" on either side of the bottom on button) are not backlit like the last one I had. It makes it extremely difficult to use. Super unhappy with my purchase. I'm going elsewhere from now on.

I'm a long time user of the "fruit" company. I've recently put aside my i-pad mini to experience the android platform which I've wanted to do for the longest time. I'm very pleased with this tablet & the customization I can accomplish without having to jailbreak a software, iie. using themes with custom icons, custom clock/calendar widgets & weather sets all displaying on the home screen of the tablet to match whatever wall paper i'm using for the day(pic attached). Aside of pretty-ing up, the tablet does run very nicely, its quick. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars was for a few reasons: 1) I wish the front & back camera took better pictures. 2) The tactic buttons on each side of the middle home button DO NOT light up, which if your in a dimmed lighted area you cannot see exactly where those are, you have to kinda feel around till you here the "pop" noise confirming you tapped there. 3) my emails & some social media never have number bubbles to indicate there's messages or an alert, unless I missed something within the menu set up, I've looked through everything with no luck (possibly because I'm using custom icons and not the default ones). 4) Would like to have an S Pen able to be purchased as an additional accessory. Overall, I really do enjoy this table and I'm heavily considering turning my "fruited" phone into a Samsung S+ or Note version.

I bought this tablet to replace an older one I have that will no longer charge to 100%. I seriously love my Galaxy Tablets but hate that they need to be charged more frequently than my IPad. The size is convenient and the Play Store has all of the Apps I need. This is my third Galaxy Tablet so I'm obviously a fan!

Great features at an affordable price. I purchased this on sale for $179.99 and my only regret is not buying it sooner. The price point is a huge factor in my purchase, however I realize that after owning a Galaxy Tab A7 for a few months. I quickly fell in love with the OS and UI features. Coming over from iPhones and iPads it took a little getting used to but alas, I am free from apple products. Unless you are super stuck on iTunes and iOS, I consider this an easy switch. At the price, I can easily replace these tablets and phones every 3 - 4 years for around $200 each vs. The alternative. I am a typical end user, i have a few apps, use social media, games, web browsing, email and stream music, TV and movies on the go.

I bought this because I love my old Tab A and this one seemed to have even more advantages. The space addition is great. The touch screen ain't. Neither is the goofy access to insert micro sd card. To type an email or navigate a screen I feel I've got to punch a hole in it to produce letter or get where I need to go. I hope these issues will get fixed with an update. Meanwhile I am using my old Tab A to type this and everything else I need to do without a hammer. Also I prefer a format that does not reduce my mp4 movies (many) to the size of a horizontal rubber band. Still I keep it (and hope for a screen fix) because I don't need the price of an s2 or s3.

I've officially made this my gps unit along with mobile office for working out of my truck. I absolutely love the Samsung Flow app as it will automatically connect my S8 Active and tablet together along with tethering when I walk out of the house or office wifi. This is the perfect size for mobility sake along with magnet mounting on my dashboard as my gps unit. Also, Otterbox makes an awesome case for this as well if you take a walkabout on worksites and you're worried about dropping it.

While I love my tablet, Samsung has fell short in the accessories department. The tablet is easy to use and has a bright display. With the New 2017 version you will have to jump thru hoops to find the screen protector and even a protective book cover. I bought the tablet at a very large electronics box store and they told me that Samsung has not sent them any of the accessories that go with it. The old Tablet A accessories does not fit the bigger 2017 version. Love it otherwise.
