Solid tablet for the price

i was not in the market for a tablet. i was looking for s pens for my s21 ultra and for some reason an add from walmart popped up offering this for $30 in store only.
needless to say, i bought 3 when they opened! this tablet doesn't have many bells or whistles, but it is the perfect complement to our samsung phones. it is a little heavy, but not it a bad way. more in that it feels very substantial and well built, which has been an issue with some tablets i've bought. the display isn't a qled with 144hz refresh, but it looks fantastic. battery is great. speed is great. overall, as long as you aren't looking for the bells and whistles on the galaxy tab 7, it's a great device for the money (even the msrp).

boasts a large screen and it's one of it's great features for streaming videos.
it's also easy on the eyes when reading online with the blue screen filter option.
it's pretty reliable when it comes to running apps and videos, i've had only a little trouble when it came to streaming higher resolution videos where it would lag or become slightly choppy. when that happens you just need to press pause and let it sit for a minute for it to run smoothly.
it's not suited for gaming. i like playing mobile games in my free time but i can't play any of the larger games on this tablet because of the low ram. i cam play casual games just fine but it's a little upsetting to not be able play games like fortnite or genshin on it.

The best thing
i bought this ipad to use for school but i found out that i couldn't use it to connect because they don't support andriods in my sec school, this is the best thing i have ever gotten for myself and i saved up as much as i could just so i could get it but now i have to reurn it and i have never been sadder. i had to write this review because it would be unfair of me to use this and return it without giving it the praise it deserves. samsung are innovators and this might sound cliche but the minute i grow up, i will always use samsung only. its on another level honestly. this is the best. good bye, its pathetic i now have to buy an ipad. it has double screen, free apps and honestly so much more

bought for my mom. and she loves it. its fast, easy to use and big but not to big for her to hold onto. she is a grandma so u get the picture. only negative thing i can say is that it can't use a s pen. small caveat for the price.

3 times now the tablet has locked up. i will try to enter the pin and it will say try again in 30 seconds . it will not shut off, restart, or respond in any fashion. there is no reset button to force a shutdown either. even the pushing of start and volume up simultaneously doesn't work.

i was looking for an inexpensive tablet to repace my 8 inch amazon tablet. got a geat deal at half the price of the least expensive ipad.
it is fast and the resolution is great. i use it for email, apps, and web browsing. dont see how a tablet for twice the price could do a better job.
recommend getting a nice case soon as possible as it is thin and can slip out of your hand. i got the subcase beetle on amazon and it is perfect for this tab as per all of the stellar reviews the case has.

i love it. the size is not too big nor too small. the battery life is great. i can watch videos, check email, and search the internet with lots of battery time left. i can keep up with my online classes, print, and download documents.

when you first get this you have to charge it and it charges fast. then after you do that you have to set it up to wifi and then you have to register it on samsung. then after you do that it boots up really fast. and by the way you only have to charge it once. the apps load fast and the email is quick.

in humid weather the tablet will not charge. the online suggested fix was to pack the tablet in rice for two days. that's nuts. why doesn't samsung instead fix this flaw in its electronic device and not ask the customer to revert to some lame, home-spun fix. and for the 48 hours the tablet is in rice, it obviously is not available.

if you like frustration and aggravation this is the $200 tablet for you....from day 1 screen would become unresponsive....
not sure what problem is...just too much junk on this piece of junk....my $30 tracfone out performed this tablet that has now been beaten with the big hammer...no more samsungs for me...

i have been wanting a tablet for a while, but could not bring myself to spend $500 on one. i found this tab a and i could not pass up the deal. i use it for work, school, and home. it's responsive, sleek, and has every feature i could hope for. i also have a galaxy s9, and it connects everything seamlessly. i edit notes, emails, and even text messages on my tablet and can switch to my phone without missing a beat. i can not imagine dropping another $300 when this tablet fits every need.

like samsung products, bought several ssd's while in japan 2013, went to best buy, bought 2 of these 1 black/1 silver. great price!!! comes with 32gbs upgrade-able to 512gbs with micro-sd. works outstandingly, nice colors, excellent battery life all for about $240. each great cameras too

i bought my wife a tab a 10.1 in 2018. its a nice substantial tablet. i received mine and although it's a "10.1" the width is not the same. plus the designer put the on off on the top the same a kindles does. therefore you wind up turning off the screen when you pick it up. also hers gets wifi all the way out to out to screen porch. mine? nope. same wifi channel same network. not happy with this an will plan on returning it. i replaced a kindle fire which gave me trouble with apps from google play. i hoped this would have done better but i'll suffer with the kindle fire.

very happy with my experience so far, three weeks since i got it.
the display is very good. while watching videos and movies the image quality is very good. the sound is potent, pretty much can be used without headphones. the connection to a bluetooh speaker is easy.
i use it mainly to read papers on website or pdf versions. it is easy to scroll the screen and magnify images and text. the size is very similar to a book, but it is somewhat heavy compared to holding a book.
for browsing through different websites or apps it is frequent to have some delays, especially if there are some apps working in the background.
overall i find it very worth for the price. very useful for reading and watching movies.

this tablet is definitely better than the ipad in a similar price range. the screen is great, the audio is fairly loud (i would suggest using an earphone), the tablet is light, the battery is fairly big, and just overall checks all the boxes to be considered a good tablet. a tablet with the recent software and a low price, what more can you ask for?

Love the features except the size of the space bar, which is narrower than the other keys, making it difficult to get spaces in if you are accustomed to a regular keyboard. That's my only frustration.

This would have been near perfect, and through many may skip this, in my given experience, this is rather poor. When first purchasing this device, I was using this for work related purposes, but only over a few months has it deteriorated. Firstly, the SD card doesnt connect property when putting into the device, and it had failed to transfer even when other Samsung devices previously used could do so. I kept this device safe, and it did fall a few times, but less than 2 feet at most, though one time, it ruined the power button, and to this day, the power button is ruined. Lastly, now there is a problem upon charging, and I am using the official Samsung branded wire from the box, and it cannot charge properly and sometimes when it does, the charging symbol flashes, and it even once showed upon the top a kernel issue. The actual device has no scratches or damages and looks brand new, but over the 2 years ive used it, it is worse than my other tab A which is inches smaller, but survived 4-5 years and still works EVEN better than this. Even despite it having a crack after 5 years, its power button is perfect, as well as its charging. I personally admire Samsung, though results like this hover me away from ever purchasing again.

Bought about 3 or 4 months ago. It will not charge any more. Appears to need a longer spade on the cable. I also have 2016 model that one is a great tablet, except for needing a minimum of 32 gb storage.

I bought this a few months ago and have used it almost everyday. Honestly just a waste of space with nothing special about it. If you're looking to get a tablet, it is better to get a cellular capable one otherwise you are just getting a huge brick that you cant even make calls on. wifi reception is "ify" at best as well. It also does not handle complicated apps very well and lags alot.

purchased Galaxy tab a 10 back in December 2019 and didnt make it to April 2020 before having battery issues .wont even stay while plugged in for more than 10 min. I reserved writing a review just to see what the long term performance was compared to what was advertised . Ill adjust feedback after I hear from customer care but for now im not pleased with the product . This is the second tablet I have purchased from samsung and both died the same way , while my ipad still continues flawlessly.

I bought a Samsung E-lite a few years ago and it was the first tablet I owned, Clutzy me, went through 3 broken cases dropping it in first year and then AT LEAST twice a week for 2 more,even knocked it in toilet once(thankfully it was not dirty water) and screen never broke and never missed a beat after cleaning button s with alcohol ,no water damage.
Finally I dropped it for the last time and it distorted screen.
Went to replace and decided to save a little and purchased lenovo,couldnt even set it up....3 hrs later went back and paid 150$ more for the quality I am well pleased with. I am not a techno person and Samsung takes care of all the information I do not understand .well worth the extra. thanks SAMSUNG!!
HOWEVER I do wish I could retrieve info off my last tablet but I don't know how and dont remember passwords and cannot get into it to salvage. Oh well

I had an ipad before but have always had samsung phones so I always wanted a samsung tablet so they could sync. . I just got mine this weekend for my birthday. I cant get facebook marketplace to work it is cut off on both sides and Facebook itself is very small. I messaged samsung support they couldn't fix it. we have reloaded fcbk and cleared data and cache. I'm just so disappointed may try to return it for an ipad.

I'm usually an Apple user but I don't hate on Android products. I bought this because it was much more affordable than an iPad and Samsung is a quality brand. I wanted to use this tablet for specifically for drawing, which is where most of my disappointment is coming from. I thought I did my research well before buying this product, but I guess this product's descriptions and advice I was given was a lot more vague than I thought. So, this tablet doesn't work with any Samsung pens, and part of that reason is apparently the screen is of a cheaper quality (part of the reason for its cheaper price tag). I've been trying Third Party pens, and even the highest quality pens have a jitter when trying to draw straight lines. It's incredibly frustrating and heartbreaking that I thought this would live up to the other Samsung Tabs and I'm very disappointed I've spent the last two months buying different styluses to try rather than just returning the product when I had the chance. Streaming and web browsing is fine if that's what you're looking for, but for someone who really wanted this for the drawing and graphic design aspect, I really don't reccomend this tablet. I should've spent a little more money and got an iPad.

I have the older version of the Tab A. I purchased 2 of the 2019 versions and was thought upset when I found out that the end of the charging cord that goes into the tablet is now larger. I was able to use the new cords in my charging dock, but if I am away from home and forget to grab my cord, then I can't charge it up. I would think that something would have been put into the description about this.

Came preloaded with enough crapware that 30% of my memory was filled when I booted it up..Almost as bad as having Microsoft..Who thought a slick back instead of a textured back was a good idea? Probably the same guy who thought having to carry around a paperclip to open the SD card tab was a great advance? Touch screen needs to be hit hard to make it work half of the time..bought this one because my old one was getting old..Putting this one back in the box until the old one dies

My husband bought this tablet for me as a gift a couple years ago. I use this tablet for just about everything. I use it to watch videos to watch movies on Netflix, I used it to present Powerpoints and videos, I use it for just about everything. I have had no issues with this tablet whatsoever, it's fast it's lightweight it's sleek, it fits into most all my purses the screen works wonderfully. Comparing this tablet to an iPad I would never spend the money for an iPad ever! For the price that you pay and for the quality of the tablet, the Samsung Galaxy by far is better than iPad.

This is the first Samsung device I have that doesn't came with Automatic brightness. Yes, you can manually adjust brightness but troublesome. Some times I like to access the device in the middle of the night. When I turn it on it lights up the room and blinds me. The rest of the time I am enjoying using this device. I would recommend it but I wish they would fix this issue.

Nice tablet, great looking screen, processor/speed of device adequate (especially for cost). The only item I would knock on the device is the Wi-Fi. When setting up out of the box, I found that the Wi-Fi on 5GHz (only freq I use due to interference from neighbors on 2.4) was performing very poorly in an area that my Samsung handsets work very well using the same network. I found that I needed to change the channel choice on my router to a lower channel, which dramatically improved the Wi-Fi throughput performance. Strange that the tablet would show less bars than a handset, but problem solved.
