the product worked fine for 2 years but is locked up now and we cannot access the tablet. my real complaint is with samsung service. it is really poor. nearly impossible to get any help.

Disappointed... in limited wifi availability

my new s5e doesn't pickup our own wifi signal within our own house. my s tab 10, not only shows our signal but wifi capability around our neighborhood. much greater capability. once connected, i may lose it if i hold the tablet landscape style. seems to stay on signal a bit better holding it portrait style! is there any way to "fix" this limitation? very frustrating and at this point i would not purchase this new model over the tab 10, that i have had several years.

My Review for Galaxy Tab S5e 10.5", 64GB, Black (W

Before I bought this tablet, I did quite a bit of research. I mostly looked at what others who had one liked and did not like.If there are any dislikes that I can't live with, I stop looking at the product. I saw some things but mostly related to the functionality out of the box. Sure you can get a lemon from any product occasionally. The good points greatly outweighed any bad stuff. I'll do the bad first. The first thing I noticed is how easy it is to smudge up the screen. The glossy shine shows up any finger prints - times two. So you will be wiping it down a lot. Another thing that makes it a good product (thin and lightweight) also makes it easy to drop - not a good thing. Lastly, the buttons on the side are a little awkward to press while the tablet is sliding around in your left hand. But now the good - This issue can be solved by buying a tablet cover. I opted for the "Fintie" bluetooth wireless keyboard/cover combination - about $35$ on Amazon. Good feel and the cover and keyboard fold up into one book like package. Nice! Still may need a table screen protector down the road. The screen size is great and nowhere as heavy as an IPAD that is smaller. The display is spectacular! I like that I can carry all my tv watching with me to any room. I can use the cover as a hands free stand if you remove the keyboard (magnetic). The sound is ok from the 4 speakers (yeah I said 4), but they are not powerful enough to fill a room. Better to use some bluetooth earplugs although it comes with an adapter to use a wired headset. I got the 64 gb version with the option for 128 gb. Added a few simulation games and other apps, all with no issues. I still need to figure out how the other bells and whistles work, but I am quite pleased and would recommend it. Its a little more than I wanted to spend initially, but I've learned with other purchases that if you do your homework its worth a little more to put a smile on your face when you use it.

The Best Android On The Market

When I found the Samsung Tab S5e for sale. I bought one and I was not disappointed at what I got for my money. After going through setup and numerous test trials. I came away very impressed with the setup of the Samsung S5e. In fact I looked up the Cover/Keyboard for the S5e and found I could get one locally. After purchasing the keyboard and paring the S5e to the keyboard I was even more impressed with the work the S5e could do. The only slow down in setting up the S5e was paring an HP Printer. It seams HP was not keen on wanting to pair it's printer with the Android Operating System. After I got the latest version of Smart HP, the problem went away and the S5e prints just fine to HP Printers using the Wi-Fi Connection.

No updates since April 2019

Samsung S5e Not Good 1/18/2020

Certain Samsung Galaxy TAB S5e WIFI Only versions are stuck on April 2019 security update. There have been at least 4 updates since, but these devices cant receive them. Looking debug logs through adb logcat, it looks like Samsung removed update metadata file, and instead of getting an error when trying to do a security update you get a message that you are on latest security update. More details have been posted to Samsung tablet help via samsung community: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Tablets/Samsung-Galaxy-Tab-S5e-Update/td-p/1062132 I narrowed the problem down to metadata file missing on the Samsung Backend servers using adb logcat. It would be very helpful to get the word out to owners to see how many devices are affected. My tablet is a day one release tablet. Many owners will not notice until "Netflix" app, which comes bundled with the system (and updates), stops working. The Play store will not allow Netflix app to be updated until the security patch is applied.

Every Samsung tablet before this one was cheap, laggy trash. I'm sorry but it's true. I've never had a Samsung tablet that wasn't laggy, and that includes the Galaxy Tab S4. I gave them ONE last chance to impress me iwth the S5e and they pulled it off. An incredibly thin tablet with a beautiful display, perfect sound, and virtually NO application/launcher lag (I mean, you can make anything lag, but it won't default to it).

My 12 inch Samsung tablet has had intermittent screen flashing since I bought it. I have to keep the backplate loosely attached to not put pressure on the battery connector. There were so many complaints on the Web about this but Samsung never fixed it !!!! So here I sit with a defective tablet. Will never buy another Samsung product !!!!!!!!

About Calls and Messages Continuity

Tablet's great, thin, light, loving DeX, but.... Not cool with the misleading advertising. Even in the small print it states that any Galaxy device with Android 9 Pie and 3gigs of RAM will have the Call and Message Continuity feature. I have an S9 updated that I've been trouble shooting for almost two hours to figure out why the CMC wasn't showing up on the phone's settings and just found another page that I had to google to find with a cute little "Compatibility" button that says only for the S10s, Note 10 and the Fold. Squirreled that little nugget away to encourage people to upgrade didn't ya? If you're like me and got duped (yeah my fault for not researching more) there's still Samsung Flow but of course that's acting weird too. Yey troubleshooting! I'm talking a star on features out of spite. Great tablet otherwise!

In my opinion I think most people think that a tablet is suppose to replace your pc/laptop. If this was the case than it would of been called a 2 in 1 or something else. But this tablet has GREAT battery life, GREAT sound and very good graphics when it comes to gameplay. This tablet is pretty much for entertainment, if you enjoy a tablet for entertainment this is it. If you want a powerful tablet that has the potential of replacing your laptop then look for the Samsung tab s4.

The web page states, "Call and text without your phone." However not with a Galaxy S9+ phone, you must have a Galaxy S10 for this feature to work. This is not necessarily a fault of the tablet, just careless marketing. Otherwise this tablet is fantastic.

Great size and shape weird screen refresh

I love the size and shape but the screen refreshes crooked when its in portrate mode (the long way for reading the most text) the text on the left refreshes quicker than the right side so the text bends untill the left side catches up. it doesnt happen in layout mode (horizontal like you would have it for movies). I thought I was seeing things but using my phone I recorded the screen in slomotion and you can clearly see the left side of the screen refresh after the right which with the naked eye makes the text or pictures bend. If this is fixed in an update it gets 5 stars from me.
