Decent quality, severely lacking a few things

I bought this from someone on eBay took a chance the guy said he only used it once put it back in the Box never used it again sold it to me for $150 with free shipping I didn't know what I was going to get, whether it was brand not a scratch on it it was in factory reset mode. I was happy. Until I use the camera which I was very disappointed with the quality since it seems like a very sturdy nice tablet overall the camera software it comes with when I take pictures it's blurry I tried many different settings I have a Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus pictures come out perfect I know how to use the photo settings in Pro mode and auto mode so the camera is definitely lacking and the second thing is it doesn't come with Samsung themes! you can't change any of the icon background and wallpapers all together you have to pay to get out a different wallpaper but that doesn't change the icons they always stay the same unless you want to pay on the Play Store to change them and then you got to get a different launcher. it's ridiculous every Samsung device i have had has always had Galaxy store and then Galaxy themes would be in it and you can place it on home screen then choose your themes from there. I've had many Samsung devices before all the way back to the very 1st Samsung S3 it had Galaxy themes, my first Samsung tablet Samsung Galaxy Tab pro 8.1, had it also. The price is also a bit High considering apples coming out with new iPads regularly at better prices the Samsung tab S4 I can understand is newer but this is been out for a couple years. I can't say it's a bad tablet but a bit overpriced and my recommendation would be save your money and get Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus instead you won't be disappointed.

Only recognizes my fingerprint a fraction of the time. BIG ISSUE: only allows me to leave screen on ten minutes before it dims (or it will stay on if my eyeball is looking right at the camera). As an artist, I sit the device on the corner of my desk to look at a reference photo - and needed it for 8 hours a day in a week long class I recently took. With oil paint on my hands I had to remember to "touch" the screen before ten minutes elapsed or clean my hands and restart it. Other students in the class sure glad they chose IPADS. My teacher finally loaned me his IPAD. Too bad I had spent the $ for this device in advance of the class and it was useless to me. Wish I had bought an IPAD again. This is a silly, silly restriction on Samsung's part. I know when I want it left on, and know to leave it plugged in. Why can't Samsung fix this problem? Give more selections for how long to stay on -- or let me enter the time, or have a selection like other android devices to "never turn off". Come on Samsung, you're not competing with Apple IPAD with these kind of restrictions. Every Samsung customer rep I've talked to simply said "sadly there isn't the ability to do that". Sadly ???? How about escalate this up the chain so a programmer can modify this ... in probably 1 minute ?? I have to give very low scores on this device because if I give a high score on features/performance/design or anything -- then Samsung thinks everything is fine. It's not. Hard to appreciate the other positives of this device with this kind of glaring issue remaining unaddressed by Samsung.

I bought the S3 a month ago and realized that it was just a 9.7 inch Note 5. It is a nice electronic device, but then it is the same wine just served in a new bottle. I would have at least expected to have some kind of additional tech on a Tab released over 1.5 years after Note 5.

I got this Pad to replace my ASUS Pad that crashed on me but came back to life as I wuz sending it off to Warranty folks. It was a Good Pad, but this Sammy Pad is SOOOO MUCH BETTER that the ASUS one. Now don't get me wrong, I loved that ASUS Pad and I would prob still have it were it not for the dying process it took. Okay Now the Review. This Pad has just about everything you might want is as far as choices on taking Pics and storage of said Pics. Using a Card for additional Memory was so simple and very easy to install, put into service and use. I mean the ease you can direct various items you might want to keep to the Card VS others, even Sammy Phones, it's just a fresh breath of simplicity. Setting up various functions of the Pad for the very first time was simple as well. It didn't require lots of hunting and making wild choices for the Set Up everything was presented in easy formats with clear selection/choices given each time. Did I mention it was FAST in operation. Especially in Wi-Fi, it's Quick and simple. Charging the Pad at the end of the day is easy and is done in what seems record time. I could just go on and on about the pad but I tell you what ..... Just go to your Fav Sammy Dealer, Pick one out for you and tell them that "POP Sent me ...!!" , I know you'll be glad you did ! - Pop in Texas

As always, Samsung has done it AGAIN. This tablet is amazing. The speakers are great and the display is amazing. The battery life is also great. I charged my tablet over 48 hours ago to 100%, played music, games, used the Recolor app for hours, and did multiple game and music downloads. My battery is now 54%. I was torn between the IPad and Tab S3, I chose Samsung because of the quad speakers and Camera quality but I'm keeping it for so many other reasons/features.

After 2 weeks product locked up permanently

Had the Samsung Tab S3 for about 2 weeks and for some unknown reason there was a popup that said "Process system isn't responding" at that was it. You could select Close App or Wait but neither worked. Tried a hard shut down and it wouldn't shut down. Plugged it back in and waited overnight and it said the same thing in the morning. Best Buy tech said it was toast. Lost my Memo data of course, as I hadn't had a chance to sync it...never thought it would just lock up. So, I give it a zero rating. Extremely disappointed. I think Samsung is asking way too much for what it really does. Because there is no USB you really have to use the Cloud a lot and it doesn't work with MS Cloud only Google Cloud. Realized it had too many limitations, so overall it wasn't a good choice. Need to remember it is just a large cell phone without the phone part. Bought a MS Surface Pro and thrilled so far. Wanted a smaller product, but the MS Surface Pro has way more features that for almost the same price it blows the Samsung Tab S3 away.

I love my tablet. The pen makes it much easier for me to handle and type. I like that this tablet is lightweight. Being that I have a disability and have to use both my hands when I write, I love that I can press on the screen and continue to write. However, when I do write it does leave smudges from my hand that I have to go back and erase. If that was fixed, I would give this tablet 5 across the board.

I'm a big fan of Samsung products for 10 years. Phone wise, I owned Galaxy S, Note, Note 2, 3, 5 and now Note8. Before this great tablet I had tablet Note 8 and Tab 3, 7" then this amazing tablet with the S Pen, little bit expensive, for me as a student but reasonable compared to the expensive and less productive "eye pad"s. I'm using this pc-tab to take notes and ssh to school server. Waited for smart watches a long time till I got Gear S2 then now I have Gear S3. My whole life style is based on how I organize it with the help of Samsung products. The guys in Samsung know what we need to make our daily lives easier. Thank you all.

Photos not compatible with older Android devices

I take photos on my Tab S3 (Android 7). I send them via email, wi-fi or bluetooth to my Galaxy phone running an older Android version. The items are saved to my phone but cannot be recognized/found by the Gallery/Photo application. If I search the phone manually, I can find them. FYI. They should automatically be found by the software. It's not. Compatibility with older Android versions seems to be an issue. Hopefully, it will get fixed in future UPDATES. Great tablet thus far, except for this issue. DISAPPOINTED. Expected better from Samsung.

This is an expensive high end tablet that for the average user does not provide much more than the Tab S2. You get a pen for note taken, or for adult coloring books etc. . You should understand that the Samsung OEM cover does not even have a place to carry the pen? Both OEM covers do not protect the edges. So if you drop you tablet on the edge ; expect to buy a new one. Both the S2 and S3 are hard to repair and most repair facilities refuse to repair them. The Tab S2 is a great product, but I think Samsung took a step backwards with the S3. Okay the S3 has better speakers, better display (which I can't tell the difference), better processor, and keyboard functionality, but the S3 is heavier and as a avid reader the weight, is a major step back. The USB-C port on the Tab S3 is a plus and makes things easier for charging. If you need a pen, a gamer, and or a keyboard the S3 is the obvious choice, but for reading and cruising the web, the S2 is a fine choice.

Compared to my Tab S, I like the Nugat operating system and the slightly smaller screen. It is fast enough for me and my apps. I wish there was a way to adjust the icon grid on the home page and get a smaller stock clock/weather widget like on my Tab S, so I don't have to download a special app. The smaller stock widget only shows the weather without the clock. The Samsung cover that I purchased with it is nice. It is held on with magnets only and for me they are strong and hold tight. Nice tablet but I wish it was cheaper.

There is no place to keep the S Pen attached, even with the keyboard case the pen is unprotected. The nib broke off and I cannot get the rest of it out to put in a new nib. The only thing I like about this tablet over my Galaxy Note 10.1 is that it charges faster. The screen was scratched within 3 weeks of purchase and it never left my house and had not been dropped.

Battery life on the Tab S3 is much worse than my Tab S2. I have tried the various power saving modes and the don't seem to make much difference. Very disappointed in the performance of the S3.

All I can say is wow. Well made tablet, the S-pen is awesome, the tablet is fast the video is crisp and the sound is amazing. Not sure about the negative reviews I would argue all of them. It's a solid build very premium I also have the Verizon LTE version which supports the download booster.

I should preface this by saying that I was a diehard fan of the Samsung Note 10.1 series of tablets. I had been clinging onto my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) for years now, waiting for a tablet that was worthy to replace it. When the Note 10.1 2014 came out, the hardware in it was well beyond the hardware of any other tablet on the market at that time. My favorite things about it were the screen resolution, the sound output, the S-Pen and integrated apps that it worked with, and it's overall speediness. Over the years though, as all older tech does, it began to slow down. So I began to look for a replacement tablet. I could not find one that had the same or better hardware than the 3 year-old one I currently owned. So I sat back and kept using it. I was starting to resign myself to having to accept a tablet from a competitor as my best option. I tried the Tab S2, but missed the S-Pen and didn't like the audio, so I returned it. Then came the Tab S3. I was a little nervous about it as the Tab S2 didn't cut it for me. But then I tried it at the store and was blown away. The resolution was finally on par with my old Note 10.1 2014. The audio sounds full and deep. The S-Pen is much better in terms of design. The redesign they put it through makes it much more comfortable to hold and use. It is thin and keeps very close with the design of the Galaxy S8 (no curves or infinity display, but same material and layout). This tablet can easily do anything you need. Whether it is drawing/sketching/or anything else requiring a fine-tipped pen, studying for school, reading, playing games, watching tv and/or movies, or acting as a full-blown laptop replacement (if you get the keyboard case). I have done all of these things and and more than happy with my choice. Samsung listened when we said we need a tablet with great hardware and an S-Pen. They heard our voice on the community board and responded, and knocked it out of the park. As far as battery life goes, I have been able to use this tablet with moderate use and yesterday when I threw it on the charger at 30%, it had been up and running for 102 hours. Samsung's integrated apps and Touchwiz design has greatly improved over the years. I went from being the person who used to root her phones and tablets to get rid of all the Samsung apps to being the person who uses all of the apps that Samsung provides and actively looks for new ones they have released to see what benefits I can gain. They environment really has done a 180. My only complaint, and it is minor, is that the S-Pen cannot be stored in the tablet like it could with any Note devices. So you have to keep track of it. It does have a magnetized side that I believe is intended for the keyboard but does hold the S-Pen loosely. It was a trade off though - to get the thinness of this tablet and the better form of the redesigned S-Pen, they had to give up the ability to dock the S-Pen in the device. I understand it and am okay with it, it is more than anything just wishful thinking. If you are trying to decide what table to go with, I strongly recommend this one. Yes, it is a little more costly, but you won't have to upgrade for years and it will do whatever you need. Thanks Samsung for another great device!
